Incident Command Healthcare Value Analysis Specialist Micro-Credential

The AHVAP Certification Center Incident Command Specialist Micro-Credential equips healthcare value analysis professionals with foundational knowledge and operational readiness based on the FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) framework. In today’s increasingly complex healthcare environment, value analysis professionals are called upon not only to assess clinical products and services, but also to contribute meaningfully to emergency preparedness, supply chain stabilization, and crisis response.

This exclusive AHVAP member benefit empowers participants with the skills to navigate disaster response scenarios, integrate with hospital incident command teams, and lead during moments of disruption. Built on FEMA’s ICS 100/200 principles and adapted for the healthcare value analysis role, this course prepares members to be credible, capable contributors in any healthcare emergency or public health crisis.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the micro-credential, participants will be able to:

  1. Explain the core structure, terminology, and principles of the FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) and describe how these principles apply within a healthcare delivery environment.

  2. Define the role of the healthcare value analysis professional within a hospital’s incident command framework, including key responsibilities related to supply chain coordination, resource prioritization, and vendor communication during a crisis.

  3. Apply incident command knowledge to real-world healthcare disruption scenarios through case-based simulations and practical planning tools that reinforce leadership, communication, and rapid decision-making.
